VINTAGE & VITICULTURE
A mild winter followed by a warm spring led to an early bud break, raising hopes for an abundant harvest. However, the summer brought some unexpected challenges including sporadic heatwaves and intermittent rainfall. The careful management of the vines, coupled with the utilization of advanced viticultural practices was essential to ensure the grapes reached optimal maturity.
WINEMAKER’S NOTES
Ripe Fruit was crushed and fermented on the skins individually. Fermentation on the skins lasted 15 days then the must was pressed and malolactic fermentation was done in stainless steel tanks. This wine was made from Riesling vines planted in 2005. Grapes are a blend of 2 different clones, the Weis clone and clone 49.
TASTING NOTES
A crisp, well balanced wine with pleasing notes of citrus fruits and hints of petrol and honey on the nose. Elegant flavours of pear on the palate with a lovely lingering finish. Always a perfect pairing with glazed pork tenderloin or raclette. Also exceptional with Asian fare; think teriyaki, chicken katsu, green curry and peking duck with pancakes and scallion. Also perfect to pair with pot stickers and dim sum.
