White Meritage 2021

WINEMAKER’S NOTES

This classic white blend is back by popular demand! Plants came out of dormancy early in spring, leading to vines getting a jump start on the season. There was an optimism in late-August that the crop would match, if not exceed, that of the previous year. But a warm and wet September caused a delay in grapes maturing and shortened an already challenging harvest. A blend of 80% Sauvignon Blanc and 20% Semillon, the wine was fermented over a 10 day period and further aging was done in stainless steel prior to blending.

TASTING NOTES

A fruit forward wine with aromas and flavours of lemon, apple, pear and grapefruit with a bit of bees wax, characteristic of the Semillon grape variety. A food- friendly wine that will pair well with richer fish entrees and poultry or vegetarian dishes seasoned with fresh herbs.

TOTAL ACIDITY: 6.7g/L
