VINTAGE & VITICULTURE

A mild winter followed by a warm spring led to an early bud break, raising hopes for an abundant harvest. However, the summer brought some unexpected challenges, including sporadic heatwaves and intermittent rainfall. The careful management of the vines, coupled with the utilization of advanced viticultural practices, ensured the grapes reached optimal maturity. Conditions for harvest were quite favourable, with wineries reporting a broad window of opportunity to bring in grapes. Ripe Fruit was crushed and fermented on the skins individually. Fermentation on the skins lasted fifteen days then the must was pressed and malolactic fermentation was done in stainless steel tanks.

TASTING NOTES

Always a classic with soft supple tannins, and a chocolatey finish. A bright youthful ruby hue with aromas of cherry and damson plum with notes of spice and red liquorice. Generous fruit flavours carry through on the palate with a balanced delicate acidity. When matching with food think smoked brisket, chicken drumsticks with homemade BBQ sauce or a spicy penne pasta with sausage, bacon or sun-dried tomato and freshly grated parmesan.
