The wines featured in the Taste the Season at Home Six Pack are all produced using grapes harvested from our 125 acre vineyard, one of the oldest vineyards in Canada. The only exception is the Shiraz which was grown on a neighbouring farm and owned by a local grower who has supplied us with this tender varietal for over a decade.
Winemaker Roberto DiDomenico has selected three wines ideal for holiday meals and entertaining with close family. Each six pack includes 2 bottles of ‘The Stars’ Riesling, 2 bottles of 2018 The Sun Skin-Fermented Vidal and 2 bottles of 2017 The Magician Shiraz Pinot.
The Stars Riesling is a Spumante-style sparkler that is fresh bright and fruity. It will pair exceptionally well with the recipe supplied by local chef Marc Lyons of Vintage Hotels for his Riesling Cured Trout on a Buckwheat Blini Canapes.
The Sun Skin-Fermented Vidal is complex white with elegant fruit flavours made by ancient winemaking technique of skin fermented ‘orange wines’. Pair with Chef Robin Howe’s Wine Country Catering recipe for Horseradish Crusted Salmon Roulades.
The Magician Shiraz Pinot is bold, peppery and complex and will shine when paired Chef Matt Tattrie’s of Zee’s Grill Honey Pecan Crusted Lamb Duo.
