2020 was a remarkable year for weather and wine in Ontario. Sunny and dry conditions throughout the summer and into the fall provided ideal weather for the full and complete maturation of grapes at harvest. While the overall grape crop is down compared to recent vintages, grape quality across all varieties is expected to be exceptional and wine expectations for the 2020 vintage are very high.

Winemaker’s Notes

Ripe Fruit was crushed and fermented on the skins individually. Fermentation on the skins lasted 15 days then the must was pressed and malolactic fermentation was done in stainless steel tanks. This wine was made from Riesling vines planted in 2005. Grapes are a blend of 2 different clones, the Weis clone and clone 49.

Tasting Notes

This dry style shows fresh citrus fruit on the palate and on the bouquet.  The acidity is balance and crisp with hints of orange peel and lime coming through the finish.
