Plants came out of dormancy early in spring, leading to vines getting a jump start on the season. There was an optimism in late- August that the crop would match, if not exceed, that of the previous year. But a warm and wet September caused a delay in grapes maturing and shortened an already challenging harvest.

Winemaker’s Notes

After harvest, grapes were crushed and pressed, selected yeast was used for the fermentation. The fermentation was kept around 12 degrees Celsius to maintain aromatics and crisp acidity. The fermentation was completed in 11 days and further aged in stainless steel tanks. This variety is only grown in a few vineyards in Niagara but it continues to impress us as the vines age.

Tasting Notes

Gracious floral and herbs blended with flavours of apple, honey, grapefruit with a mineral feel. Rich minerality and refreshing apple juice finish. Pair with
shellfish, scallops, calamari, white fish such as sole or tilapia and also great for vegetarian dishes.
