A cool wet summer originally gave us some concerns about the vintage but patience was rewarded with a hot dry harvest season that allowed grapes to ripen fully.

Winemaker’s Notes

This lot of Pinot was harvested from a four-acre vineyard block planted in 1987. Grapes were harvested and fermented on the skins for twelve days. The wine was aged for nine months in older barriques and allowed to age in stainless another six months. This allowed the tannins to soften and the fruit to open up.

Tasting Notes

Light and dark red fruit aromas on the nose with cherry, rosemary and black pepper notes. A firm acidity on the palate makes this an excellent food wine. A natural match with lamb, game and veal or serve chilled with salmon steaks and don’t forget to season with rosemary and black pepper for a perfect match.
