2015 came in with some unusually and at times brutally cold weather. By April/May the weather normalized and June gave us plenty of rain. The growing season gave us hope with sunny warm weather which ran into harvest time. This allowed us to get good maturation of fruit.
Clean ripe fruit was harvested on Oct. 3, 2014. The fruit was allowed to soak for 24 hours in our closed press. The pressed juice was cleaned using our flotation pump and selected yeast was added. Fermentation was slow and cool and the wine remained on its lees for 7 months and the lees were stirred every month.
A characteristic perfumed nose filled with lychee pear, a floral note and lime. A smooth mouth-feel with a spicy long finish. Perfect match for Asian cuisine, fish, pork and poultry dishes or hot and spicy foods.
SCORE 91 "A floral, zesty Niagara Gewurztraminer with attractive aromas of white peach, baking spice and lychee on the palate. Very Alsatian in style and elegance. Finishes with rosewater notes.
