2014 vintage started with a below norm temperatures from January to April. Most of the summer was cooler and wetter which resulted in slow and steady maturation. August and September was back to normal temperatures and allowed the fruit to ripen.
Beautiful ripe clean fruit was pressed and allowed to ferment on the skins for 14 days. The wine was pressed and allowed to undergo 100% malolactic. Aging was done in 2 year old French barriques, adding soft tannins on the finish while maintaining fruitiness.
A fine example displaying bright red fruit moving from raspberry, cherries to plums and cassis. Hints of dark chocolate, red currants, licorice and cedar brings this medium bodied wine to the forefront. Would pair well with game, veal, grilled eggplant and Portobello mushrooms.
SCORE 90 "A robust and layered red wine. Black Cherry, dark plum and smoke on the nose and palate.

Aging In Oak:16 months
